Night Owl yoga classes are held weekly Monday-Thursday. Each class explores a different style of yoga practice.
These in-person Night Owl Yoga classes are free for students and are open to everyone with an UVA Recreation's gym membership including all UVA students, faculty, staff, and community members.
All levels are welcome including those who have no prior yoga experience. Mats are provided.
Mondays: Night Owl Stretch and Relax
This class works on the mind, body, and breathing as well as flexibility and mobilization of your joints. Through a series of gentle stretching we will concentrate on deep breathing to calm the mind and relax tension in the body. We aim to have you leave sessions feeling refreshed and relaxed. With consistent practice this class will also help you improve sleep patterns and have a positive impact on your overall well-being. Instructor - Alexys Riddick
Tuesdays & Wednesdays: Night Owl Flow
Classes combine elements from Hatha and Flow yoga styles beginning and ending with short meditation and breathing exercises. The class flows from active standing poses to restorative and relaxing postures. Instructors: Tuesdays - Joyce Arcos; Wednesdays -Sophia Celentano
Thursdays: Night Owl Yoga Strength
These classes focus on building and engaging core strength by holding poses. The practice will encourage moving, breathing, and sweating and attention to the breath. Expect this class to challenge the limits of your body and mind while closing with restorative and relaxing poses. Classes are open to all levels. Instructor - Joyce Arcos
