After receiving B.S. degrees in Art Education and Psychology, Lynne taught elementary art for five years. Returning to school at West Virginia University she earned her Masters in Counseling, with coursework in Sport Psychology. She was the Academic Advisor for the football teams at West Virginia University and the University of Virginia when she realized she wanted to go back to school and receive her Ed.S. degree in Administration and Supervision. After working as an elementary administrator for 12 years, she decided to once again return to the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia, where she earned her Ed.D. In the Fall of 2016, Lynne opened her own school, Orion Academy, with a mindfulness foundation in Charlottesville, Virginia. She also teaches “Introduction to Mindfulness” to U.Va. undergraduate and graduate students.
