The Festy has always strived to minimize the amount of energy used to produce the festival and reduce the waste created by production and attendees. Our goal is to be carbon neutral and produce zero waste. To this end, each year we engage various strategies, including our steel cup program, on-site recycling/composting, and strict standards for our food vendors.  In 2019 The Festy is focused on showcasing the walkability and bikeability of the event in downtown Charlottesville. In addition, we are working with our concessions and food partners to create a program with aluminum and compost waste only! Aluminum is 100% recyclable and is infinitely recyclable. Fun fact: 70% of all aluminum ever created is still in circulation!

There will be a full schedule of children's activities plus on-site child care, and Little Planets KidZone. Children 12 and under get in free. See more here.
