WHEN: All classes meet Sunday-Fridays an an on-going bases. Classes run through April 30 and follow the UVA academic calendar. Classes WILL meet during UVA's spring break unlike many other programs at UVA. 

Mysore Ashtanga Yoga is perfect for beginners and is taught by John Bultman, one of only approximately 30 Certified Ashtanga teachers in the world.

Mysore

Ashtanga Led Primary Series (Counted Vinyasa), Friday 7:00-8:30am NGRC, MP3

Beginner Mysore

  • Monday-Thursday, 8:30-9:30am, NGRC, MP3

Yoga Discussion (with coffee and sometimes snacks)

  • Friday, 8:30-9:30am, NGRC, Wet Room.
Classes follow the UVA academic calendar and all are located at North Grounds Recreation Center (NGRC).

Mysore Ashtanga yoga is based on the style of yoga taught in Mysore, India. Students receive individualized instruction in the Ashtanga yoga sequence within a group setting. Participants slowly memorize the sequence while linking the postures with the breath so that it becomes a moving meditation. Everyone receives instruction based on level and ability but generally work within the traditional Ashtanga yoga sequence. Mysore is open to everyone and suitable for all body types and levels of experience. Mysore is most effective as a regular practice (3-6x/week) allowing patterns in the body and mind to be worked with guidance.

To participate, purchase one of the following passes:
1)  One Month Pass for $40 
This allows access to Mysore Ashtanga Yoga classes only. No membership required. To purchase a Mysore Pass, please contact IM-REC at 434-924-3791. Anyone may purchase a pass and attend Mysore classes including students, faculty, staff, and community members.
 This allows access to all Group Ex classes; Available only to students and IM-Rec Sports members.
 
3) Guest Pass
Non-members/guests may purchase single class passes for Mysore Ashtanga Yoga. Pricing/policies here.

For All Passes
If you are a gym member, you still need to purchase a pass.
