This facilitated student group, held in partnership with CAPS, meets for one hour every Friday. Sessions begin with a brief introduction and include a mindfulness practice and debriefing. Any UVA student looking to engage in mindfulness practices in a safe and supportive space is welcomed to join the group and attend on a drop-in basis. No previous experience required.
Regularly practicing mindfulness—taking the time to intentionally focus on the present moment without judgment—will make you feel and function better. Practicing with others also gives you a much-needed sense of social connection and belonging. Mindfulness can help relieve stress, build resilience, and help you focus.
