Developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is the core program of the Mindfulness Center. MBSR classes include instruction in mindfulness meditation, mindful movement, and other mindfulness practices. This mindfulness program includes these elements and has been adapted specifically for healthcare professionals.

The 8-week course meets for 2.5 hours each week. An all-day silent retreat is also part of the program. CME credits are offered.

This class is open UVA  students in the medical division; and UVA and non-UVA health providers.

There is no cost for UVA healthcare providers who have direct patient care.

Other non-UVA healthcare providers who have direct patient care may also take the course; and pay and register below.
