Are you interested in creating a simple 15 minute/day routine to help calm your mind and create a more peaceful efficient and flourishing you?  Join CSC Ashtanga yoga instructor John Bultman to explore the keys to maintaining a sustainable yoga practice anywhere you go. In this class we’ll investigate how to sustain our energy throughout the entire day and throughout our lives by delving into Ashtanga yoga’s personal and practical instruction. We’ll learn how to create a regular practice and we’ll create a simple, 15-minute daily routine that you can do no matter where you are.

John Bultman is the Contemplative Sciences Center yoga programs manager. He has been practicing Ashtanga yoga daily for over 12 years and has been studying science, the arts, and spiritual practices his entire life. John is one of 27 KPJAYI Certified* Ashtanga Yoga Teachers worldwide and has made 10 trips to India where he is a student of Shri Sharath Jois, Director of KPJAYI, Krisna Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute, in Mysore, India.
Prior to joining the University of Virginia and the CSC team, John taught Geology full time at a college in Asheville, North Carolina for 7 years. He has completed the ten Asian Classics Buddhist courses; studies on Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Upanishads; and various courses on Buddhist Tantra. John received a BS and MS in Geology with a focus on structure and tectonics under the direction of distinguished professor and Penrose medal winner, Robert D. Hatcher. He hopes to share what his gracious teachers have taught him with humility, warmth, and patience.
Please arrive early—room size will dictate class capacity. This session will include guided movement exercises so please wear comfortable attire and bring a yoga mat or towel to pracitce yoga on during the session. 
This is part of the CSC Rotunda Contemplative Practice Series. Sessions are independent, so you may attend single or multiple events.
