TALK 12:30-1:30pm
Feeling despair facing a future with the effects of climate change? There may be a remedy.
In this talk hosted by UVA’s Contemplative Sciences Center, Environmental Institute, and Public Service Pathways, Britt Wray, a researcher and expert on the psychological impacts of the climate crisis especially among young people, will share research and personal experiences from her journey from fear to hope and to action.
Based on her book “Generation Dread: Finding Purpose in an Age of Climate Anxiety,” Wray will offer ways for us to thrive, feel less alone and restore ourselves for the long haul. Britt Wray is an author and researcher working at the forefront of climate change and mental health. She is the Director of CIRCLE at Stanford Psychiatry, a research and action initiative focused on Community-minded Interventions for Resilience, Climate Leadership and Emotional wellbeing in Stanford's School of Medicine.
Copies of Wray’s book will be on sale at the event.
