Dorrie Fontaine

After a transformational experience at the Upaya Zen center funded through the generosity of Tussi Kluge, Dorrie Fontaine—Dean of the Nursing School—introduced the Compassionate Care Initiative to help nursing students, faculty and Medical Center colleagues become better healthcare providers for both their patients and themselves. Through yoga, meditation, and other activities focused on developing mindful awareness, nursing students and others develop the tools to create a compassionate healthcare system with a genuine concern for patient well-being.
