Kayti is the Director of Advancement for the Contemplative Sciences Center. She joined the center in early 2020, bringing nearly a decade of mission-driven fundraising experience during which she has developed a range of skills in principal, major and annual giving, donor relations, gift planning, and events. She also happily serves on the board of directors of the independent nonprofit radio station WNRN.
Previously, Kayti was Director of Development for the University of Virginia's School of Engineering. In her four years there, she was instrumental in driving philanthropy to support professorships, graduate fellowships, scholarships, and the annual fund for the School of Engineering, and helped launch the “Honor the Future” Campaign. Helping to lead her team during the school's important period of growth, she mentored junior development officers, shaped the strategy around its $250 million campaign goal, and achieved record-breaking philanthropic benchmarks.
Prior to her time at the University, she served as the Director of Leadership Gifts with Appalachian Voices, a regional nonprofit organization that works to protect the Central Appalachian mountain region's natural heritage and advance a just transition to clean energy and more resilient local economies. In her five years with Appalachian Voices, she built its first major donor program, helping to double the organization's budget and expand staffing and programs.
Kayti has a BS in political science from Christopher Newport University and a certificate of nonprofit management from the University of Virginia. Kayti lives in Ivy with her husband, Brian, and their two young sons Walker David and Martin.
