Natalie Conneely is the Associate Director of Advancement for the Contemplative Sciences Center. She joined the team in September 2018 to support all aspects of fundraising with a specific focus on the Dalai Lama Fellows program. In addition, she provides oversight of communications and marketing for Dalai Lama Fellows and works closely with the Advancement Director on fundraising strategies and progress on goals.
Natalie was born in the lowland jungles of Eastern Bolivia, the seventh of eight children. Complementing Natalie’s seven years in development, she spent four years in corporate business development and advertising sales managing more than 54 million dollars in revenue from Europe, Middle East, and African Markets, while launching CNN International’s first Middle Eastern Production Hub in Abu Dhabi, Unite Arabe Emirates.
Outside of her role at UVA, Natalie co-founded Changing Stories, an international production platform and arts organization that provides transformative experiences for communities to share their stories and gives individuals the opportunity to tell the stories that matter to them. Natalie is currently producing two feature films and one documentary. She is the former Co-Chair of the Human Rights Watch Young Professionals Network Membership Committee in San Francisco, has been initiated as a Field of Love Meditation Guide and is a certified chakra yoga instructor. In her free time she is a working actor and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. She has a degree in Political Science and Film, Television and Theater from the University of Notre Dame and has non-profit experience in development, education and the arts in Bolivia, Ghana, Peru, and India.
