The University of Virginia is hosting a public event to support contemplative studies and sciences in the Mid-Atlantic Region on May 23, 2015 in its South Lawn complex. Co-organized with Virginia Tech, Virginia State, and Radford University, “Contemplative Learning and Research in Higher Education” aims to bring together teachers, scholars, researchers, and others involved in contemplation in higher education across the Mid-Atlantic Region. It will involve keynote addresses by U.Va.’s Susan Bauer-Wu (health care and higher education) and Emory University’s John Dunne (humanities and psychology research), lightening spotlight talks from around the region, and breakout discussions focused on how to best build regional community and networks for contemplative learning, studies, sciences, and health care. Anyone with interest, including students and members of the public, are welcome to attend.
