Effie is the Senior Finance Generalist for the Contemplative Sciences Center, where she supports the Center’s financial operations. Effie finds deep personal and professional meaning in supporting the center’s mission and contemplative work. Drawn to the Center’s mission of fusing contemplation, connection, and research to enhance flourishing, she joined CSC after serving at Student Affairs Finance at UVA.  

Before moving to Charlottesville, Effie held the role of Operations Supervisor for Austrian Airlines, managing financials, compliance, and daily operations at Washington Dulles International Airport. She went on to spend over a decade with Merrill Corporation in Washington, D.C., supporting Fortune 500 clients in her role as an Account Executive and Strategic Project Manager. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds a CompTIA Sec+ certification in cybersecurity and risk management. 

Effie is passionate about animal advocacy, having volunteered for many years with animal rescue organizations in Northern Virginia. When she is not at the Contemplative Commons, she enjoys keeping up with technology, exploring new ideas, and traveling.
