VIRTUAL MEDITATION ON THE LAWN
CSC and partners across Grounds have offered these brief virtual meditations on Monday morning. Each week a different instructor, practitioner, or UVA community leader guided these brief sessions. Open to the UVA community and anyone else who is interested in pausing, particularly at this very stressful and often lonely time, to cultivate mindfulness, compassion, resilience, and a sense of belonging with others so inclined. CONTEMPLATIVE PRACTICE CLASSES
CSC offers a number of classes to learn and practice mind-body movements, meditation, and other contemplative techniques and methods for greater well-being and flourishing. Learn more.

STUDENT MINDFULNESS MEETUPS
CSC hosts these weekly mindfulness meditation groups exclusively for UVA students in partnership with (CAPS). Make mindfulness a habit by joining a group this semester! When offered you may find classes here: Learn more.
 

CONTEMPLATIVE PRACTICE FACULTY GROUP
During sign-up period for this Contemplative Practice Faculty Group (times and registration period varies by semester)  Meets weekly for contemplative practice including mindfulness, gentle movement, and observational practices. This community is open to all UVA instructors whether new to contemplation, a seasoned practitioner, or anywhere in between. Past members are welcome! PRACTICE OF KINDNESS & CARE
Research shows that meditations focused on cultivating kindness, goodwill, and warmth toward oneself and others can increase one’s sense of well-being and social connection. CSC instructor Leslie Hubbard guides this practice, which includes breathing techniques, visualization, and heartfelt wishes of kindness and well-being towards oneself and others. TIPS FOR BEGINNER MEDITATORS
These are general tips for practicing meditation. Additions or adjustments to these guidelines may apply to specific meditation practices and may be provided by individual contemplative instructors leading a particular practice. Learn more.
