Community Engagement

The Contemplative Sciences Center offers programming for the greater Charlottesville area as well as the UVA community. We host regular speaker series, events, and on-going contemplative classes that are free and open to the public. In our pursuit to study the art and science of contemplative practices and transformational experiences, we hold periodic gatherings that highlight cutting-edge research in the humanities, sciences, social sciences, arts, and technology that also address personal, social, and global challenges. 

In Fall 2024 we piloted a roster of programming and academic classes as well as completing interactive art installations such as the NINFEO and the Conservatory, opportunities to experience contemplative environments of light and sound.
