Bio

Alysha is a Laboratory Technician with CIRCL: Contemplative Innovation + Research Co-Lab, where she supports research on meditation, environment, and their effects on the brain through EEG and other neuroimaging methods. She is a recent graduate of the University of Virginia, where she earned a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience and Spanish. Prior to joining CIRCL, Alysha served as a student advisor with the Contemplative Sciences Center for three years, where she supported the center’s work with students, including during the establishment and opening of the Contemplative Commons.

Alysha is passionate about neuroscience research, particularly understanding how contemplative practices may influence memory and cognitive health across aging. She hopes to pursue graduate training in Psychology and continue exploring the intersection of contemplative practices, neuroscience, and healthy aging. Outside of the lab, she enjoys traveling (20 countries and counting!), yoga in all forms, going to concerts, and spending time with friends.
