REGISTER - This event is for University faculty; graduate, and post-graduate level affiliates.

On December 9, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm, help plan a pan-University Compassionate Care symposium to be held April 17, 2026. Connect with fellow attendees, researchers, and experts in the field of compassionate care in a relaxed environment at the Contemplative Commons. There will also be a variety of games and fun to be had!

Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be provided. 

Discussion topics include:

• Education, Human Development, and Compassion 

• Healthcare and Compassion 

• Contemplative Sciences 

• Cognitive Science / Neuroscience 

• Leadership and Compassion  

• Technology, AI, Ethics and Compassion 

• Arts & Humanities and Compassion 

The spring symposium will be held April 17, 2026 8:00am-1:00pm and will focus on compassion research and scholarship across Grounds. This event will explore compassion-related research with an interdisciplinary focus and is intended to spark connections and collaborations.

This event is co-hosted along with our UVA partners: School of Nursing, Compassionate Care Initiative, and the School of Education and Human Development.
