Than Grove is the Digital Technologies Manager and Research Scientist in Religious Studies for the Contemplative Sciences Center. He helps maintain and develop the Center's website and digital resources. In collaboration with SHANTI @ UVa, he is working on the infrastructure behind the Contemplative University.

Than received his Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia in 2004, focusing on the Mahāyoga system of Tantra propounded by the Old Schools (rnying ma) of Tibetan Buddhism. A self-taught programmer, he has worked in Digital Humanities since 2000, first with the Tibetan and Himalayan Library and then with SHANTI @ UVa. He currently holds a joint position with CSC and SHANTI developing Drupal-based websites for a variety of digital humanities projects.
