Music by the Dell

The Contemplative Sciences Center Peer Programming team is inviting students and community members to come and enjoy live music (and free food and spike ball) on the Dell Field and Picnic Ground on Saturday, April 18 from 12:00 - 5:00pm. 

CARELab™ Mayor’s Challenge for Community Change - 2026

CARELab™ is a community-based six-day Leadership/AI accelerator. Geared toward college students as well as motivated juniors and seniors in high school, the program equips emerging leaders with the skills, mindset, and ethical foundation to make a difference in their community. Through human-design thinking, mindfulness practice, and AI methodologies, student teams develop insights to address community challenges provided by Mayor Juandiego Wade.

Contemplative Film Club

The Peer Programming team will be exploring the world of contemplation through the medium of film. This program is intended to offer a chance to enjoy both popular and lesser known films, engage in discussion around the contemplative elements of the film, and to spend time in community with other folks who are interested in film.

Write & Reset

Write & Reset will provide an opportunity for participants to explore journaling as a form of practice, while enjoying a quiet and relaxing space to help move into the start of the week on the right foot. Journals will be provided as well as items to customize them. Each week will bring a new prompt to engage with as well as light refreshments for participants enjoyment.

Letters to My Future Self

Letters to My Future Self is a low-pressure reflective program offering an opportunity to pause and consider the present while writing a private letter to your future self — the person you will be or would like to be at the end of the academic year.

The Spiritual Roots of Yoga — Free Public Talk and Guided Meditation

In this free public talk and guided meditation, Sister Brahmani, a nun of Self-Realization Fellowship, will explore the spiritual roots of yoga through the wisdom of Paramahansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi, who helped bring India's ancient science of yoga meditation to the West and whose universal teachings continue to inspire seekers around the world. Discover how timeless guidance for revealing the peace, joy, and spiritual potential within each one of us can bring greater fulfillment to your life. Free and open to the public.

Active Series Yoga (Mondays)

The Active Series was developed by Sharath Jois and derived from a traditional Ashtanga Yoga practice. It retains all the benefits of the traditional method keeping the linking of movement with breath but includes new more accessible postures for a wider range of students in a modern age and setting. Students from all levels will be able to participate in a non-intimidating inclusive setting.

Peer-Led Yoga

Yoga is for everyone! Come and enjoy beginner friendly yoga practices led by members of our student peer programming team who have completed their yoga teacher training! Friday and Sunday classes meet in Studio 3B (300). Wednesday classes meet in Studio 3D (304).

Reading Unplugged

Put away your phones, turn off your laptops and settle in for screen-free reading at the Contemplative Commons. Read for class (print out your coursework!) or just bring your favorite book or magazine. Comfy couches and snacks will be provided. Every Sunday from 2-5pm on the 4th Floor Alchemy space in the Contemplative Commons. Drop in and leave whenever you like. No registration required.

Friday Rest Fest

Join us Friday afternoons for these contemplative activities specially curated to help you reconnect with your body and feel refreshed for the weekend. Drop in to any class. All are open to the public.
