The Contemplative Commons Student Advisors (CCSA) will be hosting yoga with Robin Lilly in the Meeting Barn at 2:00pm. It is free for all students and all levels of experience are welcome. On May 1 we will be leading a sound bathing experience. All levels of practitioners are welcome and bringing your own mat is encouraged!

Psychedelic experiences have been variously described and current psychometric measures have problems. This talk by David Yaden will describe issues surrounding measuring and characterizing psychedelic experiences for the purpose of predicting risks, benefits, describing, and comparing these experiences to those triggered through other means.

In connection with invited speaker Britt Wray's talk being sponsored by the Contemplative Sciences Center and the Environmental Institute, we will be holding a contemplative nature walk at the Dell.

Feeling despair facing a future with the effects of climate change? There may be a remedy. In this talk hosted by UVA’s Contemplative Sciences Center, Environmental Institute, and Public Service Pathways, Britt Wray, a researcher and expert on the psychological impacts of the climate crisis especially among young people, will share research and personal experiences from her journey from fear to hope and to action.

The University of Virginia’s McIntire Department of Music and Contemplative Sciences Center are pleased to present the Live Sonima Tour to be held on Thursday, October 23rd at 7:00pm in the Old Cabell Hall Auditorium. This event features a concert performance by Caroline Jones followed by an inspirational talk by Stedman Graham.

For the first time, the University of Virginia will host Arianna Huffington and Deepak Chopra on Grounds. Their visit coincides with the Fall Reading Days where students are encouraged to clear their minds and relax in preparation for upcoming exams. In their only public appearance at the University, Ms. Huffington and Dr. Chopra will offer brief remarks prior to Dr. Chopra leading a guided meditation session from the steps of the Rotunda.
